why it exists

One clerk. One travel authorization. Forty minutes.

A notary office needed a document authorizing a child to travel abroad without one parent. The clerk searched for the right earlier document, changed every name and date by hand, and printed it three times. Once because a name was still the old one. Once because of a typo. The third copy was correct.

From a document you already use to a finished one

You set a template up once. After that, every new document is a short form.

    Upload a document you already use

    A finished document or an old template, as a .docx file. Your original is never changed.

    Review the suggested variables

    Nabuhat marks the names, dates, ID numbers and amounts that are likely to change. You keep the right ones, remove the rest and rename anything.

    Save it as a template

    The confirmed document becomes a template for your whole office. Upload a new version when the wording changes and choose which version to use.

    Fill in the form and download

    Staff complete a short form with only the approved fields. Nabuhat returns an editable Word file, or a Google Doc if you use Google Drive.

Detection is a suggestion. You review every variable before a template is saved, and you review every document before it goes out. Nabuhat prepares documents. It does not write them, judge them or sign them.

the name

Named for the gods who kept the records

Nabu was the Babylonian god of writing and scribes. Seshat was the Egyptian goddess of documents and record-keeping. Nabuhat joins the two names and the two oldest traditions of administrative writing. The mark is a clay tablet, the object cuneiform was pressed into.
